Forrest Gump was mentally retarded and he could tell the difference between bluegrass and Railroad Earth.

OMG are you really this dense? There is no need to argue with people like this. If they can't hear the difference between railroad earth and traditional blue grass string bands I don't know what to tell them. Do bluegrass bands have electric guitar, electric bass, and brass instruments?

It is still a modern take on bluegrass. You are acting like describing them as such is completely ludicrous, when in fact the term would most definitely come up while describing them to someone who has never heard the band.

As a neutral musical person here, I had no idea RRE wasn't just your basic bluegrass

so with it going straight from P&F to Furthur, I guess Phil will have to have two sets of gear for that night and just unplug and walk over for the next set? maybe they will put the new addition in between if it is a big enough name, but i don't think so.

Yes bluegrass is definitely a part of the style. That is obvious, but to just classify them as a bluegrass band is asinine. I describe them as a folk and Americana band with new-grass roots to people who have never heard them.

I'm pretty sure I am. I have a ticket. Waiting on my buddy with the RV to hop on board honestly.

Did you already buy an RV Pass? We were going to do an RV but my friend forgot to buy a pass and they are sold out, couldn't find any online so we are stuck with car camping.

Ah shite, hell no I don't. I'm getting to old to camp on the ground for 4 nights. I have a hammock stand I built tho. Forrest camping would be alright except for carrying all your shite back to the car after partying for 4 days.

It's the essence of modern bluegrass. I posted the definition and it's identical.

Only a part of their music is what you are describing. I don't really care anymore. If you choose to think this way so be it. I personally don't label music by book definitions.
