Holy shite you were in a much better spot than me. I was dead center 10 feet from the GA barricade behind the first 2 sections (didn’t win the front standing lottery).

It was a great show but I couldn’t see shite and the crowd drowned out most of Liam’s vocals. I may go again in the states to actually see and hear the band.

Manchester was BUZZING on Thursday and Friday though. Love it as a city. Left this afternoon and came to Oxford for a few days before we fly out of London.

Oasis is so much more than a band to that city. They’re like a band and a sporting event/home team playing for a championship this weekend.

Lads were definitely chucking pints of beer and piss during fricking in the bushes, acquiesce, morning glory, and bring it on down.

Do you think Noel realizing that Liam IS the reason for the bands success after all (a little humble pie so to speak)?

I just don't understand that sentiment at all... Noel is the primary songwriter and it's all about the songs...

I think their success is the sum of what they both bring...

Agreed.

I don’t think Liam is strictly the reason.

But Liam’s larger than life presence as a frontman was absolutely crucial for their rise to mega stardom. Without Liam they’re likely just another Brit pop band like Cast who are opening for them.

IMO songs with Noel vocals have more staying power because they offer a contrast to the Liam songs while not over saturating an album with Noel vocals which then make the album seem “smaller” I guess.

I think historically Liam is disregarded by “team Noel” more than the other way around. I also think his contributions are somewhat downplayed when they were absolutely crucial to their success. Even walking around Manchester the ads were probably 75/25 Liam (both younger Liam and current 50+ Liam).

He’s THE rock n roll star.

I get that and that's why I said they are the sum of their parts... but IMO it starts wit the songs...

Even John Power (Cast) was on his way to being in a much bigger band (The La's) than his current one, with Lee Maver's songs...

Who the fook is Blur? Oasis is legendary. Hopefully they have another tour in a year. We’re planning a UK trip next summer

LOL what a ridiculously stupid attempt of a troll.

quote:

Damon Albarn has "conceded defeat" to Oasis. The 57-year-old singer's band Blur had a huge rivalry with the Live Forever hitmakers in the 1990s - which culminated with the so-called Battle of Britpop, when both groups released singles in the same week in 1995, with Blur's Country House ultimately taking the number one slot ahead of Oasis' Roll With It - but now Damon has hailed his former foes "the winners" following the huge demand for tickets for their reunion tour this summer.

quote:

“I think we can officially say that Oasis won the battle, the war, the campaign, everything. “They are the winners. They take first place. In the face of such overwhelming evidence, I am happy to accept and concede defeat.

Awesome pics! I was in Manchester the night of the first Cardiff show. We found an Oasis-themed bar to go hang out, and they were broadcasting a livestream from the concert. There were about a hundred or so folks there all getting hammered and singing their lungs out. It was almost like being at the show itself. Caught a train to cardiff the next morning, arrived in cardiff around noon and headed straight to the stadium for ticket upgrade. (Someone told me they were at the first show and they gave out about 5000-6000 complimentary upgrades to "golden circle" if you had a regular general admission ticket.) Got the ticket upgrade, went to my air bnb for a nap, and strolled into the stadium about 10 min before Ashcroft started (I saw Cast last year for LG Def Maybe show and had no need to sit thru that again lol.) And we still managed to get pretty close. We could see the band fine without the screens. But my left eardrum was buzzing for a few days after...it was loud af

just secured Rose Bowl, Sunday night from all places --- a distant cousin. They are slightly below face, but the catch is her rich soccer exec husband bought some premium package tickets that are 650 a pop.

I’d love to see Oasis. They’re are on my short list of bands that I’ve never seen live that I’d be willing to pay $250 a ticket. I wish they were coming to Houston or Dallas because that would be the only way that I could justify it.

Saw em at ACL Fest '05 and again the next year at Bayou Music Center of all places, so I'm not sweating missing this tour. I think they'll do some more touring eventually after this one.

Same. I figured I’d actually like to hear the band instead of the lads in the crowd. I had gotten one Saturday ticket when they went on sale and decided to use it.

Taking my super fan 7 year old to Roger’s stadium in Toronto tonight.

Figured it would be most mellow of all the shows and had airline miles. Way cheaper than any other show

Those VIP tickets can be gold because many of the rich ones dont want or need to get to the rail. Go for it!!!

How was the show? Looked like you guys got some rain.

I've got tickets to LA Sat night show in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to it again!

Fantastic.

The show going off after the sun went down made it significantly better than the Manchester one. The video screens are infinitely better in the dark and actually top notch.

We were angled right at a mixer speakers too so it sounded great. It was nice to hear them this time and not 80k Brits singing over them.

The rain kinda added to it and the little guy powered through. Think he might’ve been the third most popular guy there

I really can’t believe how good they both sound this far in. It’s very obvious Liam has become a pro over the years and actually takes care of himself and his voice now.

The Canadian Poznan was nothing like the UK ones but the crowd was definitely into it.

Any of you guys going in North America are going to be VERY happy you’re going. They’re having a great time and you can tell Noel is enjoying this way more than he likely thought he would.

ETA:

I have a rose bowl ticket if anyone wants it for face. It’s for the Saturday. Going to list it on Ticketmaster but figured I’d ask here first

I forgot to ask about the LA shows. I went to the Saturday show. We were even closer this time than at Cardiff show. We were a few feet away from the crying chick that made the album cover

Sold my LA ticket and got two for Toronto. Very favorable exchange rates and quicker flight from Floruda.

The Argentina shows from this past week looked absolutely wild and the craziest since Ireland.
