Saw both Ozzy and Sabbath a few years ago. Ozzy was awesome, but unfortunately Sharon got him cleaned up before the Black Sabbath show, and it was no comparison. I nearly walked from the Sabbath show it was such an uninspiring performance on his part.

Cool bump. I've basically been spinning Ozzy and Sabbath tunes most of the day. Reading back through this thread, I noticed that you said you never saw Ozzy with Zakk but did see Black Label Society with Anthrax. All three times I've seen Ozzy were with Zakk. Also saw BLS as a headliner in Norfolk. Got a BLS pick tossed by James Lomenzo.
Another poster wrote "Those who got to see Ozzy, Motley Crue, etc live in their prime were truly lucky." I guess that's probably true considering all the shows I've been to over the years. First time I saw Motley was on the Dr. Feelgood tour when they were sober and amazing. The whole show is on Youtube actually.
Just seeing AIC early with Layne was special considering how his life played out.
Vito Bratta with White Lion was special too, seeing as he disappeared completely after they split up.
Megadeth at Ozzfest was the "classic" lineup of Dave, Dave, Marty, and Nick. Saw that lineup twice in '98, once with them headlining with Life of Agony opening. That was the brief moment in time when Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe was their singer.
Anyway, it's late, I'm tired, rambling, and genuinely bummed out by today's news.
You can't kill rock 'n' roll, it's here to stay.
