Saw them on their farewell tour last night. Great show. If they happen to come to your town, it was worth the trip.

Saw them three years ago open up for Garth Brooks in the Superdome-really great show. It was the day after Jimmy Buffett died, and they paid him proper tribute.

Garth didn't mention it.

Bastard.

I don't know how many original members are left, but man they've been around a long time.

One of my good friends plays guitar for Nitty Gritty. His dad is Jeff Hanna. It'll be sad to see some of the music from my youth no longer be sung live by him.

Two. (I think). They've been around 60 years.

Jamie.

Honestly, I thought he had the best voice of them all.

And yes, he can sing. He had a pretty good album with his cousin (who happens to be a Nitty Gritty bloodline, Jonathan McEuen). They were called Hanna-McEuen.

I love their tunes. Brings back memories of my childhood. Wish I could have seen them in concert.

A couple of the members have lived in the Sarasota /Bradenton area on and off over the years. Nitty Gritty Sand Band has a nice ring to it.
