I see it that way too, which is why I don't want a lot of crappy music on the soundtrack. But it's more than nostalgia. I was 20 in 1990 and it would seem like 90s music would be the music that I identify the most with. But I'd much rather listen to music from the 70s or 80s than pretty much anything from the 90s.

Exactly the same here. I liked some music of my teens and 20s, but when something sucks you just know it and I chose to listen to good music that was mostly created when I was a kid or before I was born. For no other reason than it was just better than what I was surrounded by.

I was 20 in 2000 digging at a local shop for Steely Dan records when no one my age was listening to Steely Dan and no one of any age was listening to records lol.

give up on them completely and get spotify

I have Spotify but I find myself using it more for old radio shows and podcasts than music. Not that there isn't plenty of great music on there, if that's what you're looking for. I usually just want some background noise at work.

I was around 7 when Aja came out. My parents had the album and seemed to play it constantly. 45 years later and it still hasn't gotten old, even though I've probably heard it more than any other album.

Slipknot especially. Combo thrash and death metal while dressed like GWAR.

Death metal fans would disagree heavily with this statement.

Most of their guitar work and overall sound jams pretty well, IMO, but Kroeger's lyrics, and at times his voice, are cringe as all frick, even sometimes downright creepy. He's either going full rock party bro lyrics or full creep, no in between

one of the best features spotify has is taking your favorite artist or band and listening to their "radio" channel. you'll find tons of people you never knew existed.

it's literally so easy to find good music these day. a lot of people just don't want to actually search for it.

The benefit of terrestrial radio on the 70's. No other outlets so you did get some decent music once in a while.

Folks like different things...that's why they build churches AND bar rooms.
