Loving this album and looking forward to watching the film. One thing I'll say to the people that mentioned him being hard to understand ... Have you listened to SS before? I don't know a single person who has listened to him that hasn't commented on this in reference to ALL of his music, recorded or live.

Also, the mix with the vocals turned down is something that is very noticeable on the new Tyler Childers. At first it annoys me, but it makes you crank both up louder and it becomes more immersive!

I’ve listened probably six times.

I’m a huge country fan and was disappointed to know that we ain’t getting that from him again. I went into this wanting to hate this record.

I can’t. It’s incredible. Even Sing Along, which I janked on at first, is great.

And yes Make Art Not Friends is fricking amazing.

The middle of the album is very “dark side of the moon”

The beginning of “make art” is just like “on the run”

Pure masterpiece

Sing along is bad arse
Great “old school country” lyrics with a modern sound

You would think the Netflix closed captioning would have the correct lyrics but they don’t

A lot of “unclear lyrics “

It’s also wrong in the chorus of “best clockmaker “

Same here. I have about a 40 minute commute so I listened on the way in and was like this is good, but wtf... Listened on the way home and paid a little more attention to the lyrics and holy shite. It’s just a huge frick you to the “big music”.

Agree with the Dark Side of the Moon comparisons. Found myself thinking that on the second listen.

What’s cool is he could have taken these lyrics and set it to the same sound as Metamodern and got the same accolades he always gets, but saying frick it and doing what he did is pretty bad arse.

Why are you so sour about other people liking this album?

Anyone else think he used the wall of sound style of recording for some of these? Really sounds like it on the last track.

I hear a little John mayall and the bluesbreakers influence on that track.
(An album that he cited as influence on this new album)
