Well, Johns been recording and the new single is here in advance of the May 5 record release:

It Dont Suit Me (like before)

its a nice update to his sound (and mood) that i could see widening his base.... though i admit im losing the lyrics a little behind the band and do hear what might be some recycled lines in there. Im pretty excited about it though.

He's coming to a Fayetteville in July with full backing band. I'm glad he's moving away from solo for this tour. Maybe I won't leave the show needing to schedule an appointment with a grief counselor.

I'm a huge fan, but this song doesn't do much for me.

New album out today! I've only listened to the opening track, Sallisaw Blue, and It Don't Suit Me (like before). Streaming it on Spotify right now and digging it thus far.

very much enjoying it, despite being a bit distracted on this listen. I look forward to keying in a bit more on the next run through, but im very happy with the broad strokes of the sound he went for.

First listen while in the car. Only song he missed on imo was salisaw blues. Overall it's a fantastic album and Slow Down Easy is my jam at the moment.

It just doesn't do it for me. It'll probably grow on me but it is the only track on this album that I couldn't get into on the first few listens. In my opinion ain't we gold was a much more successful attempt for him at an up-tempo blues rock song.

It's alright. I'll probably like it a little more after I listen to it more. Love In the Throes and High on Tulsa Heat

totally understand why you would like those other albums more.. they are more depressing

this album has a more upbeat sound about it

In his defense ther are depressing in an "I'm just reminiscing it's okay" kinda way. Not depressing in a Damian Rice I'm gonna slit my throat kind of way

I think the singles are my least favorite but I get the statement he was trying to make about his career choosing them.

Another excellent album from him though -start to finish

This album just keeps growing on me. Love is not an Answr is my jam. I predict they will absolutely smoke that song live.
