I haven't seen the Official Beginner thread in a while and can't find it with the cutting edge search function here.
How's everyone doing?

Still strumming along...

I got so tired of everyone saying I play exactly like Jerry Garcia that I started playing more like Billy Strings.

I'm almost exactly a year into learning. I'm not good by any means, but I continue to grow and learn. My poor wife has been very kind to me because she has to hear me from the other room every night hitting wrong notes.
I've been concentrating a lot on blues, specifically acoustic guitar blues. I never intended that, nor was I ever a big blues fan before I started playing guitar. It just so happened that I really enjoy playing it. It feels right to me, ya know? Now most of my music listening is focused on blues and really trying to absorb it.

Here's something perfect for you. This guy is really good, and I like the way he does his video lessons.

I've added that to my "guitar" playlist.
Which brings me to another thing. I'm sure y'all can relate, but there is so much I want to learn, but so little time to do it. I get maybe 20-30 minutes per day to practice. My desire is more than my skill and time allow.

I'm definitely in this situation.

For good practice look up AC/DC solos. They are all blues scales and not too hard to learn even for beginners. Highway to Hell and Shoot to Thrill are some easy ones.
