I thought you were talking about this. It was used on the TV show Suits last week

That is some cheesy '80's hair metal dressed up as "evil". The song is ok, but the lyrics and presentation are cringe-a-riffic.

Weren't they all suing each other or something? What happened with that?

Some old members sued the singer. The new stuff was mostly recorded by then though.

I think that is kind of the point.

Is it really? I've heard of Ghost and knew that the Satanic stuff was likely schtick, but I didn't realize that the whole project was just caricature.

Love the new rats song. Totally new band minus the songwriter.

Ghost is just fun 70’s heavy metal with a modern spin to it.

They are not as cheesy as 80s hair bands but they're not super serious either. The singer likes to joke around on stage a bit.

I hadn't really heard of them before Square Hammer, but went back and listened to a lot of their stuff from earlier. So I am no expert, but I've seen a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff from them. I think they perhaps launched with the shtick being hidden. I certainly don't think they take themselves seriously at all. I just saw this little teaser video, which has some silliness going on.

Saw them live opening for Maiden last year and they sounded great live. Super clean and great sound. Never a big fan before then. I never got a 80's Hair vibe, more of a 70's Blue Oyster Cult vibe.

Have been a fan for a couple of years...

Was very suspect of them originally. Papa’s voice is an acquired taste and they always came off cheeserific to me.

Friend paid for a group to go see them live at the Civic in NOLA and to be honest I was blown away live. Great live show. Just good, clean evil fun...

Their catalog is constantly evolving. Lead singer takes on a new “identity” each record. Seems to be main songwriter. No other original musicians from 1st album release.

Favorite song... Deus en absentia

Dance Macabre

Sounds like it should be on the Karate Kid or Vision Quest soundtrack

This is straight up 80s pop. Not really my thing but ok for what it is. Certainly catchy though. Metalsucks put an article up the other day saying Ghost is the next big arena rock band. They booked two big arena shows for their fall tour. If those do well I think they could very well move up to arenas full time. This sort of song will bring in a ton of new fans.
