St Anger doesn’t count, Bob Rock did the bass.
You're absolutely correct, of course. Most of what I know of the album comes from the movie and that was a key point. I just plain forgot all about it.

here's another
neil young & crazy horse
debut album "everybody knows this is nowhere" 1969
latest album "barn" 2021
in between a steady (voluminous) stream of new original material and nearly constant live touring. and the band has remained relatively intact
neil young
billy talbot
ralph molina
danny whitten>pancho sampedro>nils lofgren

Around 1988 when Chad Smith, Frusciante, and Flea joined forces.

this thread makes me sad, because the answer should be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Big KISS fan and they are selling out shows, but their last new Music was MONSTER in 2012 and it was adequate at best.

Neil's passing brought an end to RUSH, but they had a great 40+ year run. Clockwork Angels was a very good album.

I am wholeheartedly convinced that The Rolling Stones and U2 will continue to tour long after their deaths as holograms.
And they will continue to sell out arenas.
And they will continue to sell out arenas.

Weezer is a good answer. Still getting radio hits across multiple decades for an early 90 band is pretty crazy
