How awesome was Pat Travers?
Saw him open for Foghat around 1980. Awesome show.
From the headboard's original list, a lot stand out for me. Although a lot of those bands turned cheesy, some of the early shows were great. Two that come to mind are Kansas after Point of No Return came out, and Heart when Little Queen came out, which was right behind Dreamboat Annie (Cheap Trick opened if if remember correctly).

The Toto show was backed up by Head East, who I really wanted to see.
I saw Head East with Rick Derringer at Tech in 78. Couldn't hear for 2 days...

Exactly. Saw Derringer with Alice Cooper. Derringer was the loudest band I've ever heard.

Glad to know I'm not the only person who hoards concert ticket Stubs haha I love keeping them though because when I look at them I can remember details from each show..
For example I went to a Beyoncé concert long ago and even though I'm not a fan when I look at the ticket stub I remember my 50 yr old dad getting up and twerking with the other youngsters around us hahah quite funny

One thing I noticed even as a kid was that that the opening acts were always leaner and meaner.
Head East, Styx, Nazareth, UFO, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, Foghat, Journey when it was a three piece instrumental band and heavy as frick, and others I cant remember!

Saw them 5 times in the late 70s. Awesome each time. The best was at the Warehouse in New Orleans.

same here, saw them in 75 with JJ Cale opening, great show. Right around Tres Hombres coming out IIRC. Although I still think Deguello was their best album. Saw them on that tour as well.

Saw him several times but the one pictured was in 2003, I bought 12th row floor seats on eBay for below face value. Great show.

Was really disappointing. Phoned it in for like 20 minutes. Terrible show but at least I got to see the legend in person.
Probably my top 3 favorites from the picture were Bon Jovi/New Jersey tour, Def Leppard/Hysteria tour, and RHCP with Pearl Jam & Smashing Pumpkins opening.

I've seen several shows like this, some were down right embarrassing.

I went to a lot of those. Of particular note is the Ted Nugent one in the upper left (brown one with "28" date). That had the Scorpions opening and also a then VERY unknown Def Leppard back when they kicked arse for real and they were all in their teens. Pretty sure they had just stepped onto US soil for the first time. Ted was amazingly loud and to this day I've never seen anything like the absurd amount of amps and speaker cabinets he had stacked up on the stage. Fun concert.

I was chiming in to tell him I was sorry he had to see him twice.
But Pink Floyd in Texas Stadium has to be a lifelong "remember that night" kind of night. If you can actually remember any of it.

Damn nice collection!!
Just makes me sick to my stomach that my stubs from the 80's and 90's are gone.
Can't make out the dates on them. Are they all from the 70's or did any early eighties sneak in there? Because: BOC!!!

Some damn good ones here too. Looks like you and I were on about the same pace with Drivin N' Cryin shows in the 90's.
Here's my CSB. Just last summer I was in Little Five Points in Atlanta leaving The Vortex. As I was pulling out two guys came walking down the street and into the parking lot. I said "Holy crap, that's Kevin Kinney." Couldn't help myself so I swung back around and parked and hopped out to talk to him. Spoke to him before back in the 90's so I figured he'd be cool with it, and he was. Besides, I had just seen them about two weeks prior there in Atlanta. Once again a cool dude.
Didn't even realize at first either until Kevin introduced me to him. The other guy was none other than Peter Buck.
ETA: Also, that Metallica on 08/22/89 was just two days after I saw them in Biloxi.
