Great show. Seeing them live puts them in a new light.

This is what I am saying right now as well. I've seen some pretty amazing shows...but I was right in the front, the crowd interaction was on another level - and they played an awesome setlist.

One of, if not THE best show I have been to and I've seen Incubus solo and with Linkin Park, Chevelle, Minus the Bear, 311, U2, Shinedown, Kings of Leon, and others. Mutemath is the shite.

By the way, there is so much mold and dust on the ceiling it's unreal. I was on the balcony and couldn't believe that they let the ceiling get that way. Odd thing to say, but I took a pic of the absurdity of it. I'll post it tomorrow.

That's insulation

It was a good show but the Chelsea's show was better IMHO.

I'm going this route also. I thought they were real good last night and sounded great. They just looked worn down and tired from a long tour towards the end of the night that killed a little bit of their energy.

I don't get why they just didn't start earlier being that Darren said he was going to jump in a car and head to Texas if his wife went in labor. I would've been happy with Mutemath starting at 9:30 instead of 10:45ish. They wrapped up about 12:40. The setlist was pretty solid and I did enjoy watching them again. They always deliver.

The Chelsea's show felt like a special VIP show with about 100 people invited. They were all packed on that stage with Paul hanging from the ceiling at times.

I wish I could say it was my last show for the rest of the year. That has to be a good feeling to tell people.

But then you couldn't have seen the world's most bored drummer tapping lightly along with a badly out of tune guitar and ill-formed chords... Seriously, if you move a capo, you retune. I almost felt bad for them. They were out of their league on that ticket.

True..True.

That drummer killed his set. Especially those two songs where he actually had something to play and not just bob his head like he was listening to some awesome acoustic set.

Yeah, that was an unpleasant surprise. I got there at 9 thinking they would be starting soon, but...nope. A boring DJ and terribad estrogen act.

The DJ wasn't terrible, but he wasn't spectacular. He was also apart of their staff, he helped push around the raft that Paul Meany crowdsurfed on.

But yeah, that other band was terrible. Just not the right fit at ALL for this concert. I wish Mutemath would have just gone on right after the DJ, that would have been amazing. Still - great show.

Guys that went, please name as many songs from the set list as you can. I know typical, equals, blood pressure, chaos.

I really want to get a lot of their songs. Great stuff. The instrumentals were downright nasty

Man, that sucks... Shame civil twilight bailed

They sounded good from what I've heard

That still seems like a late start for a Tuesday night show.. Something must have happened... The varsity is very prompt on show schedules.

Doc, there was a 20-25 min stretch where no one was doing anything. Everything was set up and ready to go. It looked as if the sound guys were ready. They were just standing around waiting. Maybe Mutemath wasn't ready.

I believe the wait was for a computer to power up that ran Roy's Moog.

The acoustic opener was a bad call. Instead of getting the crowd pumped up for MM, they just bored everyone. I guess the claps after every song was to make the band feel good. Towards the end of their set, the crowd banter was louder than the band playing.

It just sucks to stand around for 2.5 hours waiting for the main act to start. Few bands I will do this for...

Not sure if anyone noticed, the Mute DJ did play an Earthsuit song for a bit. My buddy picked it out right away. That was kinda cool, I thought.

Well I'll tell you this much... The varsity talent buyer reads this board daily so the concerns are being read...

Good to know.
