Mumford finding a way to try to avoid ticketing bots purchasing tickets

this is awesome. it gets rid of those damn bots that buy up tickets and screw people out of paying face value.

We're pleased to let you know that an extremely limited number of tickets for each of these shows have become available.
In order to ensure that they go to none other than you guys, genuine Mumford & Sons fans, and that the process is completely fair and even, tickets will only be made available for sale through a special registration to receive an invitation to purchase.
A number of those who registered will then be picked completely at random and invited to purchase tickets. Here's how it'll work in detail:
1) Register now at LINK by entering your name, email, DOB, and zip code (so we can make sure you're a real person, not a ticketing bot). Registration does not guarantee you'll be able to purchase a ticket. Registration closes Wednesday at 11:59pm EST.
2) Select the show you want to see and submit.
3) At 10:00am EST on Friday, January 25, invitations to purchase tickets will begin to be sent out (don't forget to check your spam folders!). Emails will include a code and instructions on how to purchase and you'll need to click through and buy the tickets with a credit card. Note: there will be a 2-ticket limit.

a big amphitheater that everyone who goes on an amphitheater tour stops at. its literally on the water looking at the philly skyline. not fun to park at though.

good intentions can not trump basic economics. If bots or scalpers are buying all the tickets and selling them above face value, that means the tickets were pirced too low to begin with.
If bands want to stop it, they need to play more shows or raise prices. Or perhaps only sell tickets at the gate the day of the show.
