Crazy that the Killers played Voodoo in 2004. The entire set used to be on youtube, but could only find Smile Like You Mean It

Just triggered a memory that a dude played an acoustic cover of this in a Dublin bar while I was there in 2019. All makes sense now!

Not even close to the best Killers song.
Anybody that says this is currently wearing skinny jeans, an ironic t-shirt, and posting on a message board about social justice.

They are still pretty damn relevant today.
Arguable. They are still putting out good music, but nobody seems to be listening.

Correction needed in title:
These 260 weeks are non-consecutive.
NOT 260 straight weeks.
Still an amazing stat.

The song at second doesn't even come close at 166 straight weeks. The Brits sure do love them some Killers
But the song is much much older. Why is it only now receiving this attention in the last few years? Did it also chart in the UK when it was initially released back in 2008 or whenever?
Just curious...

I hate how this song is so easy to sing with a crowd as you’re about to leave a bar.

I was always fairly indifferent about the Killers until their album last year (Imploding the Mirage). It was one of my favorite records of the year.
Loved the War on Drugs influence on it.

I can’t wait until I wake up from this nightmare where everyone pretends to like this gay arse song for no reason

By what metric? Their album released a few months ago and got to #11 overall in the country, #1 on alternative and rock charts. Just went to the Green Day/Weezer/Fall Out Boy concert in Houston a couple weeks ago and the crowd went wild during Weezer's set. Seems like people are listening just fine to me.

It's seeing its 260th week on the charts, but not 260 in a row. They're big in the UK, so it would have compiled quite a few weeks upon its original release. They do a lot of festivals over there, so every time the perform there, the interest gets renewed and people start streaming and downloading again, which are factored in when making the chart rankings.
That's how I understand it.

New Killers album out today (Pressure Machine). Sounds pretty good on first listen.
