Like I said, I based my list off of success, longevity, and how influential they were. All four had varying degrees of each.

ANY list without Johnny Cash is rubbish, commercial success, social commentary, cross genre support, influence on other artist are all off the charts

I just started listening to old country music, so I'm not a huge expert about it history, but if I had to pick the 4, I would probably choose Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, and George Jones.
