Most influential Bands of the 21st century so far:

other thread had me thinking about this
I'll name some I think should be in the discussion:
queens of the stone age - no bigger true rockstar than josh homme in the last 10 years. don't believe me? watch a live show
radiohead - kid a, hail to the thief, in rainbows... they've put out fantastic records
the killers - indie rock meets pop music and inspired a ton of other bands
the white stripes - jack white brought a sense of weirdness to blues rock
arcade fire - neon bible and the suburbs were fantastic records
my morning jacket - doused in reverb, they inspired a lot of other bands
modest mouse - brought indie rock to the mainstream in a lot of ways with "float on"
black keys - assisted in the blues rock revival of the last 15 years
arctic monkeys - debut album in 2005 was an international hit but took the US a bit to come around to them
spoon - consistently great band.
ryan adams - inspired the alt country explosion currently happening now with jason isbell, sturgill simpson and others
LCD sound system - brought electro rock to the mainstream in a big way
gorillaz - damon albarn is a musical genius. what else is there to say?
flaming lips - have been a band for 36 years but hit their stride in the 2000's
bright eyes - was inspired by elliot smith and influenced the emotional singer songwriters you hear today
now, you may disagree with some or most of these bands, but they have certainly been super influential to music for the last 20 years.
who else you got?

I think the strokes should be in the discussion as well. their debut album holds up today and they influenced a lot of bands with it.

TBH, it's probably The Killers, Jack White, Mumford & Sons, Tool, Cage the Elephant, and Foo Fighters

How depressing... I’m going back to the 70s and 80s.

None of them
You'll be hard pressed to remember them in 15 years.

I would put them into the discussion for influential or important for sure.

I like your like OP and agree with a lot of them

There are a ton of great, influential bands on your list. Maybe a few I would remove and a few I’d add, but overall it’s good. A lot of people (especially on this board) just assume almost all music made after a certain date automatically sucks, even if they have never listened to the majority of it. The idea that these bands will be afterthoughts in 15 years is out of touch.

I’ve been an Interpol fan for a long time but I’m not sure they belong here.
Again, love em.
I’m also a big fan of The Killers so what do I know.

That's a pretty fair statement if you are assessing their entire catalog....I'm specifically talking about Antics and TOTBL, which, though influenced heavily by Joy Division themselves, seemed to influence many other bands since those albums were released. They, along with The Strokes, are most responsible for the whole "Brooklyn" alt-rock kind of deal, imo.

Oh, no argument there from me! Those are fantastic albums.
I’d even throw in “Our love to admire.” After Carlos left it started tanking some. They were just here in Nashville and I wanted to go but passed on it for some reason.

yeah I agree.
I don't get the downvotes though. I mean, downvote away, but at least give some realistic influential bands of the last 20 years. But just to disagree with a downvote is kind of lazy IMO
(not directed at you of course)
