Oracular Spectacular

Just a reminder how fricking bad arse this fricking album is. One of the most influential albums in my musical journey and all of Indie music.

Hope This New Live Album can touch it's greatness.

MGMT has a great sound. I'm happy they're releasing a new album but its still from 11 years ago. Hopefully they will release new music someday.

Oracular was great. I grew tired of it pretty quick though not long after it came out. It was crazy how quick they rose in popularity...now they are hardly ever talked about.

Oracular has aged very well though. I may enjoy the follow-up, Congratulations even more. It was pretty bold of them to go almost a completely different direction in releasing a psych rock-ish album after how popular Oracular was.

I was a big fan of Oracular. What other albums do you like that are somewhat similar to it? I’ve not heard much else like it and would love suggestions.

I love this album and still listen to it today. These songs are the type of music that when I have my non-music-addicted friends over and one of these songs play, I'll get the occasional "who is this, I like this"

Saw MGMT at DPAC in Durham in 2013. Not the same tour from this live album (2011), but it was a great show and I was very surprised at how good they were live. I assumed they were a studio band and it might not translate live.

Little Dark Age is fantastic imo and has more of that 80’s synth sound that Oracular has. Congratulations is amazing too but is more of a rock sound.
