Pretty unrelated bands, eh? I'll go with Teenage Fanclub on the strength of Bandwagonesque alone. Classic. I like Lush well enough but they never released anything close to that.

Teenage Fanclub has the better output over all. Lush has the best single.
Teenage Fanclub.
Always on my list of underapreciated bands.

Lush... and it's not even close.
My Favorite "Chillin'" Track: LINK ]"Undertow" (from Split). Gritty garage-guitar knifing through the atmospheric background ambiance... which slowly melts into the harmonic vocals at the end.
They played at Tipitina's in August, 1994 (Weezer was their opening act
). They put on a PHENOMENAL show. IIRC - There was a high-quality bootleg recorded and pressed from that gig.
FWIW - If you only saw them live at Lollapalooza... They sounded alright, but outdoor shows were definitely not their strong suit.
ETA:
Here we go! This is kind of crazy...
It says Texas, but (I'm 98% certain) it is actually the aforementioned Tip's show: LUSH - Hypocrite/Undertow (LIVE-1994)
Video quality is actually pretty good and it's quite obvious they aren't "studio" vocalists only.

Flagrant self-bump to draw attention to the link added above.

Really?
Uh... Yes. For me it's not even close.
I treat all "VS" threads as "Give your opinion" invitations, not "Defend your position until you're sorry you ever even got involved" opportunities.

In my opinion, TFC was the far superior band... Better sound, better songs...
Lush was OK
I'd probably vote for TFC over most bands on this board...
