Guitar Class

This woman is good. It's basically the first step to a rock band.

Looks like a cool idea. Depending on price.

I'd love lessons too, but I want a person my age. I don't want a 21 year old guy with dyed hair who can shred reminding me that I wasted all that time when I was 12 "flipping" Defender.

Dudes a fricking hack. Avoid at all costs.

Plus, he's a puss. Got all sober and shite. I want lessons from Slash. He can teach and drink you under the table. I think he's off the Coke and or heroin, but can still knock down a cocktail.

No doubt, even personal one to one lessons. Had a friend from Colorado skyping banjo lessons from Tony Trischka a couple years back. (he was once the man)

I think it's like $20 each time you meet. You learn to play as a group. It's the "Adult Music Club" so you are being taught by older people surrounded by other older people. I learned to play at 44 years old in this club. I'm an alumni I guess. You eventually start playing in a band formed by AMC. I've done many gigs. It's a shitton of fun.

Personal lessons would definitely be better, but back when I was a broke college student, I learned how to play by watching lessons on youtube by "Justinguitar" and "martyzsongs"

You shitting me? I assume Houston would have such a club or chapter, being larger than any place in LA?

Sounds right up my alley.

Is "adult music club" a thing? Meaning has a website etc.?

Having the word "adult" makes a Google search at work seem ominous.

ETA. No such thing in Houston. Just a NOLA/BR thing.

I think this is pretty specific. It takes a special teacher to be able to teach guitar, drums, bass and piano all at the same time

You must play everyday to get good and no Guitar Instructor can do that for you.

...he merely listens, critiques (makes suggestions based off your play), answers questions, lays out a plan, and if lucky teaches how to practice. Playing is indeed essential and the more FREQUENT the better; however how and what you practice is as critical as how often.

I forgot to add that that advice to play everyday was from my first guitar instructor. I had the basics , wanted to learn more lead and he showed me penatonic and other "scales " and said practice everyday. I did and play intermediate but I will never be able to read music, just plays what sounds good to me. Best "hobby" I ever had and only one that I do all the time for many years!!
