some of his band mates speculated that it could be about Robbie or it could be about how much he hated the Joan Baez version

Funny. I like both versions, but then I'm pretty easy to please with music.

He looks a lot like Townes Van Zandt in that photo.

Helm's brief but impressionable scene as Mr Rate/Gunny in Shooter, was top notch.

A truly exceptional album. I love Levon and his daughter's harmonies.

yes highly recommend it’s fantastic. His daughter Amy is also very talented as a musician and producer and has carried on levons legacy most excellently

I never saw the Band but was able to see Levons band a couple of times this was after his throat surgery so his massive voice wasn’t there but the reverence for him and his musicianship was powerful

also they still put on live music at his place in Woodstock if anyone finds themselves up there it’s a must go

Huge Levon/The Band fan here, it’s unbelievable how good he was at singing and drumming at the same time. I watch The Last Waltz every Thanksgiving.

Even if the camera is on Robbie 90% of the time lol.

I have been listening to Carry Me Home, the last album he recorded before he died with Mavis Staples. The old man still had it, even weak as he was, that voice is timeless.
