Me and Bobby Magee (Kristofferson). I know he wrote it, so I'm assuming he recorded it before Joplin.

John Lee Hooker had a few songs covered like 'Boom Boom' by the Animals, Yardbirds, etc but he has got to be a list of most ripped off sound. ZZ Top made their career lifting his licks. Compare-
