Gonna have to go with either Future, 21 Savage, or Lil Yachty.

All have the rhyming capability and wit of a kindergartner with the stupidity of a middle schooler.

At least Future's songs are catchy with his beats. Lil Yachty and 21 Savage are both straight up terrible.

Pretty much all new rappers literally just grunt and groan for 4 minutes at a time and say random things that are popular.

This younger trap generation is more about the producers than the rappers. Zaytoven, Metro Bommin, Mike Will Made-It, and the like are the real stars. You can put any of these less lyrical rappers on their beats and it doesn't matter because people love the sound more than the lyricism.

Rap (but not hip hop) has always been more about the quality of production and beats than the lyrical content.

This generation definitely takes it to another level though.

I didn't think it could get worse than last year's Freshman XL class (21 Savage, Yachty, Kodak Black)... until I saw (and unfortunately heard) this year's class.

Rap is in a downward spiral.. or maybe I'm just getting old.

XXXTentacion

Ugly God
Playboi Carti

Nah man I would say that current Pop rap makes it seem that way. There are still artists out there that put out quality music. You may have to search for it but it's there. Also there are so many different sub genres in hip hop now that you can find just about anything that could fit your taste.

Oh, I should have been more clear. I love lots of current rap, it's just not the stuff that the majority of "rap fans" are listening to and the stuff that's considered "current" and representative of where rap is at the moment.

I love this parody of "Humble" that's called "Mumble."

I've gotten to the point now where I just listen to the old stuff. 90's-early 00's rap. Since I was a 90's baby I didn't hear a lot of the early 90's stuff originally, so it's new to me.

When I heard yachty say "all my bitches come in pairs like balls in my nutsack" I knew this generation of rappers wasn't for me.

You might as well give up on the majority of rap if this is the reasoning.
