The only band more underrated than the Kinks is the Jesus & Mary Chain. A friend of mine has the theory that Ray Davies didn’t have the vocal ability of John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Paul McCartney or Pete Townsend, so that’s why they don’t get more cred.
