I was a frustrated drummer a lifetime ago. I used to pretend I could work hard and play like some of these cats - Peart isn't really approachable from a technique standpoint for a casual drummer. I mean, I would listen and think: "How is he hitting all these tom rolls AND work the bronze at the same time?"

Then I watched closely and realized he was doing the tom rolls with 1 hand (that couldn't have been good for his wrists) and working the bronze with the other hand. frick me running. It makes one want to give up right then.
