Much more upbeat than Born and Raised.
I like it a lot, and I think more people will be into this one than the last record. Folk/Blues/Old County all fused into one, and really can't be labeled as one specific genre. The song-writing is effortless for him on this it seems.
it's a combination of Born and Raised, Battle Studies and Continuum. That JJ Cale cover of Call Me the Breeze is super fricking nice too.

Complaints:
I like the Frank Ocean track, but it feels sort of out of place.
The song Who You Love scared me when I first read Katy Perry would be on the track. I listened and was pleasantly surprised, as it's tastefully done. The song is great. However, that little laugh of hers at the end of the song made me take my headphones off for a second, it just pissed me off.

Overall, the album is outstanding. It's really great with a listen all the way through. He seemed to have a lot of fun doing this record, and it's a fun album to listen to. I can't put it ahead of Continuum, but I'd give it a 9/10.

My review of Paradise Valley
1.Wildfire -is a fun song. I could see it on a commercial
2. Dear Marie-I dig it. I do like the verse, "From time to time, I go looking for your photograph online and some kinda judge in Ohio is all I ever find". This song also reminds me of a song I really like by The Wheeler Brothers called Portraits.
3.Waitin on the day-Like it overall but didn't really like the first minute.
Paper Doll-the prancercise song! good one.

Who you Love- Love it! I had to go search who the female was singing with him. Was pleasantly surprised it was Katy Perry. They sound really good together! This would be a great song to hear live.
I will be found-I didn't like this song

Badge and Gun has one of the coolest bridges I've ever heard from him. Almost sounds like something from Edward Scissor hands with some folk mixed in (the bridge only).
I like I will be found. It fits in nicely with the vibe if the album. It's one of those songs that sounds better when you listen through the entire album.
Least favorite track is You're no one til someone lets you down. This is the one track I'd actually classify as a country tune. It'l sounds like some older country, and the steel guitar is well executed. I just felt like it went too country.

I believe Aaron Sterling did the drums for the album. I know he's the touring drummer right now.
When I saw him in early 2010 Steve Jordan was on drums, but the last 2 times were Keith Karlock (2010) and Sterling (Jazz fest 2013). Chuck Leavell (Allman Bros) is still on the keys.

I was under the impression that call me the breeze was originally done by skynyrd. But i gues they did a cover as well?
