is he better than Luther Dickenson, in regards to their play with The Black Crowes?

Luther is a much better guitarist but you could make the argument that Jackie is a better fit for the crowes

I agree with this. Luther is one of my favorite guitarists, and ive seen the crowes 30 plus times. The crowes are MUCH better with jackie imo. He gels really well with rich and i enjoy the mandolin stuff he has brought to some songs.

I never saw the crowes with Luther but their album with him was just ok. Saw them with Jackie over the summer and he blew me away
