Maybe, just maybe, people listen to the music they do because they enjoy it.
. . .just not hipsters.

And when will you cease to care about hipsters and the music they enjoy?
You are bashing others to impress us all with how much of a "true music" fan you are. Sounds pretty similar to what you accuse hipsters of doing.

I don't see anyone doing that in this thread. So why bring up Hipsters?
Oh wait it's because you can read minds apparently and know how to classify everybody.

The world needs many more people like me.

I have presented no options in this thread.
My musical tastes are personal. Had I started a thread, your point would be valid.

I mainly just wanted to razz shuke. . .but then the hipster defense force showed up.

The only thing mildly funny about the group of people you are targeting, and I am not sure if it's some "hipster fad" since these folks have been around as long as I have, is the propensity to think a band or song is decent as long as it's not popular, which is pretty stupid.
The band in question has some good stuff though, and I like a few of their tunes. Surprised they are not more populuar

So you're just the purveyor of cool and authenticity. You are the hipster who bashes hipsters. I dub thee, Proto-Hipster.
Good luck on your crusade.

Porcupine Tree never gets their due when you talk great bands from UK. I remember the thread someone stated about top 5 bands from England and NO ONE mentioned them, but becuse The Verve sold a bunch of records their someone felt compelled to flame me for pointing out the Verve isn't all that IMO. I have personally been a fan for about nine years. In Absetina is an album I listen to on the regular.
At my wedding my wife and I's first dance was to the song Trains. This band is one of my favorites.
You will never hear them on the radio, but their is a lot of music you will not here on the radio so WGAF??
Seen them once live at Voodoo in 07' and I remember the album Fear of a Blank Planet had just come out and they rocked most of the track on that album. Midway threw the set Steve Wilson asked if anyone even knew who they were.To my surprise people cheered!!
