Feels like it. Can't turn on rock stations in the car without hearing these hacks.

As absolutely horrible was both those bands are; I would gladly sit through a full setlist at each of their shows, then go back stage and tell them how much they rock, before I'd willingly sit through 1 nicki minaj song.

I'll defend Shinedown's first and third album. But yeah they've become Nickelback 2.0

I would consider them in the same music generation as Nickelback. Shinedown got popular around 2003 and Nickelback did in 2000.

Nickelback is amusingly bad at least. Shinedown just sucks.

Actually I like both of them Nickleback's Dark horse Album is very good rock album with very good Guitar work on it. I am not muck a fan of their ballots as I am the rock out anthem like Shaking Hands or Something In Your Mouth from Dark Horses.

I am going to see Shine Down and Halestorm at the old Arena Friday Night.

Both bands were popular at the same time, so I don't really understand the question. If anything, Nickelback's popularity lasted longer.

Before The Sound of Madness came along and completely burned me out due to its immense overexposure, I used to think highly of their lead singer. He has a hell of a voice, and Shinedown still has arguably the greatest cover of "Simple Man" ever.

Besides, Shinedown is hardly the bottom of the barrel when it comes to uninspired, bland, and talent-less commercial rock.

Fly From The Inside is a good tune. Has a personal message for me.

Right.

Anything popular since 1998 will be compared to Nickleback on this board though.

Sound of Madness (mainly "Second Chance") changed them a bit with its radio play and commercial success. Amaryllis is still a really good album with some kickass songs.

All the new stuff I hear on the radio isn't great. Singer is still awesome and can hit some great notes.

"45" is my favorites as far as rock tunes go. Dude has some pipes.

Saw Shinedown here in Vegas when they opened for Van Halen (the VanHagar reunion) in 2004. I didn't think they were bad at all, but they got booed off the stage. The drunk bastards in the crowd wanted Van Halen not Shinedown

I saw them at a free concert back in 2010. They really aren't bad. I think they became cool to hate after their sound of madness album caused them to be rediculously overplayed on alt rock radio. Jokes on us, though, as we don't even have alt rock radio anymore. I would gladly trade years and years of enduring hearing way too much shinedown on the radio if it means I get to actually hear rock on the radio again.
