Not to get all Chevy Truck on y'all, but Seger basically tapped into the people in Middle America that sang about real things.
Coming off of the 60s, you had people like the Beach boys singing about California and surfing...Near the end you got the protest music of the Vietnam era and the hippie era.

I feel like Chris Stapleton is trying to be this generation’s Bob Seger.

He's like a rock to the blue collar folk.

Been my fave forever. He’s Still The Same.

His music just hits that spot of what it means to grow up as an American. His sound was a cultural touchstone.

Fantastic stuff. Great lyrics combined with unique simple chord progressions.
I've been a big fan for nearly 50 years.

His catalog is DEEP.
Seger has hits he probably forgot were hits, he has so many hits.
I was stoked to see him at Jazz Fest a couple years ago but he had to cancel.
Bob Seger is American music. Sadly from a bygone era.

I love Bob Seger and can’t stand Night Moves which is odd since it’s probably his most liked song

Well, you stand firmly to what you think is right

I'd say Merle Haggard holds this title

But did Hag ever Feel Like a Number?
Maybe in his prison days...

My late dad's favorite...great concert.
Dad had some many of his 8 tracks...damn I am old
He wants to dream like a young man
With the wisdom of an old man
He wants his home and security
He wants to live like a sailor at sea
Beautiful loser, where you gonna fall?
You realize you just can't have it all
