A few years back this station was utterly atrocious. Currently in the area for work and had already been noticing that, while still playing a fair amount of standard classic rock radio fare, it had vastly improved with deeper cuts than a few years back. Just now heard Run To The Hills. Very nice surprise.

The station sill isn’t perfect, but the music is definitely much improved.

Hang on and in about 30 minutes, they will play The Boys are Back in Town.

Oh I know, and probably Crazy Train afterward. No way though would they have played Iron Maiden a few years back. Definitely improved.

They have definitely stepped up their game. You still get a lot of the run of the mill classic rock, but they have expanded their catalog. I only listen when I’m in my work vehicle, but there’s absolutely no alternative in this area.

They really stepped their game up about 2 years ago. They’re using a much larger pool of songs in their rotation than they used to with a fair number of b-sides. You still occasionally hear the same overplayed standards, but not nearly as often.
Eagle 98.1 > Bayou 95.7 That was not the case a few years back.

New Orleans needs a hard rock station. Most cities I have ever traveled through has one. 95.7 is terrible and 92.3 is worse. I know it's a predominantly urban area but come on.

Most rock tours skip New Orleans due to lack of radio play and demographics. Prove me wrong. Biloxi gets better rock bands than we do.

92.3 is the worst. It’s 90% white rappers and edm now. They don’t even bother calling themselves a rock station anymore.

I've never cared for 92.3 FM. It's supposedly "The Gulf-South's Alternative," but sounds corporate and polished as hell. I can't tell if the DJs are live or recorded and have no idea where they're broadcasting from. Most of the music stinks; all the songs sound alike.

I still miss 104.9, "The X." That was a great station, back in the day.

Also, I'm old.

You know, after living out of state a while I drove to Louisiana last summer. I was still in Mississippi when I began to be able to catch 95.7, and that was like my first indication of being home. I haven't been back in over a year, you're saying 95 sucks now?

New Orleans needs another station like 104.1 in the late 2000s early '10s. I think 90s-00's actual alternative rock would have a large market

They played Damage, Inc back in July. Floored me when I heard it on that station. Still can't hardly believe it.

95.7 hasn't changed. Eagle 98.1 has dramatically improved.
