In honor of Daft Punk's new album, let's post some "oldies" and similar songs

Not really oldies, per se. My contribution is only a few years old (2009).

LINK

Obviously, there has only been the one official track released and the small samples. But to hold us over till the new album, let's post some similar songs to what we have heard so far, or songs that you are hoping to hear similar on the new album.

This isn't really a "prediction" post. More something just to keep us busy and maybe make the time go a little faster.

Its interesting I thought Daft Punk would go more in the Tron direction but it seems they said frick the current electronic trends and went back to some funk like in Homework.

There a nice write up in one of the magazines where they kinda said just that. They were trying to avoid the current reliance on electronic equipment.

Anyone can say that about any music they don't like?

Who are your favorite acts? I'm sure I can make a case for one or many being overrated. It's all about taste.

Jake, you are way off on this one. Daft Punk is one of the most revered musicians of our time.

I watched all 6 of the collaborators videos tonight, and I am so fricking stoked for 5/20. I have never been this excited about an album release. And from all the collaborative vids, Random Access Memories is Daft Punk bringing it to a new level.
