And it was everything I imagined it would be. He still has it, and I would gladly go to his concerts over and over again.
The other shows were ok, but very surprising.
Maddie and Tae, as expected sucked. They just don't draw.
Dan + Shay.. this was a big surprise. They are very talented songwriters, I never realized how many hits they've written for other artists, but the biggest surprise was Shay Mooney. This kid has pipes, holy shite. The range and tone of his voice is amazing, he can sing anything. I can see them getting real big, and they know how to put on a show.
Old Dominion was alright, they still sound like they did 10 years ago, and they're trying to make a comeback but it wasn't real exciting.
Hank fricking Williams Jr.... Words can't explain how exciting his shows are.
Thomas Rhett.. he can put on a show as well. His songs are country mixed with rock/pop/r&b/jazz, etc., but he's an amazing songwriter and the show was exciting, especially when he brings his dad out with him.. Rhett Akins still has it.
And for the biggest disappointment... Blake Shelton.
He's a good actor, cause you can tell his entire show is scripted and he just goes through the motions. It was too slow paced and not too much excitement.

He's going to be at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles over the summer, trying to decide if I want to go.

I saw Hank Jr. in Funroe back in '82-'83. Bocephus even threw in a ZZ Top covers mini set. He played a white Les Paul the entire show. Rawked.

my man
He was the only reason I contemplated going yesterday.
What was his setlist?
His pictures on stage look good, he looks healthy. Glad to hear he's still got it!
I will definitely go see him at the Nugget in Lake Chuck.

I saw him a few years ago in Kinder and I was very underwhelmed. Way too many political rants for my taste. I still love his old stuff, but I won't pay to see him again.
