I need an acoustic guitar-help please

I need an acoustic guitar to strum around on. I need some way to put music to my songs. It's been forever since I've played, but I feel as if I don't get one soon I'm gonna lose it.
Anyone have a decent one they'd like to sell, or could point me towards where I'd get a good deal?
I don't need anything fancy, though if I could get one that could plug in to an amp that would be optimal.

Go to your local music store's acoustic section and just start playing till you find one you like. Though honestly unless you need to plug into an amp right away I would just get a straight acoustic then add a pickup to it later on. You'll get more guitar for your money that way.

Not a lot. Not saying I couldn't spend a 200, but if I could get one under 100 I'd be very happy.
I want the acoustic for portability and ease of play. I'm looking at buying an electric strat copy and a REALLY nice, lightweight, low power amp in a very fancy cab for 250

Go to a music store and strum around on a few - see which ones your hands feel the most comfortable with.
If you don't see one in your price range, try ebay, craigslist, musiciansfriend.com...
good brands for that price range (probably used gear)
Yamaha (we actually use these at our studio for lessons and they are pretty reliable, action is good on the fretboard, and they stay in tune for the most part) given the price.
Takamine
Fender - for acoustics, not my favorite, but they are a good guitar to tote around and jam with.
Martins or Taylors are a bit more pricey, but they're obviously better instruments...you might find a used one on some of the sites I mentioned above.

I'd check Craigslist or Guitar Center. You should be able to find some suitable ones within your price range. I've also found success at Target, where I bought an electric Peavy and practice amp for $29.99 (!). Just make sure you get one with a low action. My first acoustic was a Yamaha with a high action, and it really hurt my ability to play and learn on it.

From reading your post, you play—or have played and want to pick it up again. If you really think you're committed to playing regularly this time around, I'd suggest getting something more than a $100 guitar. I'd look around for a used Taylor—like the 110 I've got. They're great guitars, and you can probably get a used one for $200 or so. Get a straight acoustic and buy a Markley pickup to go with it.
Since you know how to play, have owned other guitars and want something to write with, I'd avoid the cheap guitars. Get a good used one (Taylor, Martin, Takamine) for cheap instead.

Well, it was back in high school, and I was never very good at it, but I never stopped the writing part. Now I need something to relearn on really. Something I can bring around and play anywhere I have free time.

That's sorta how I picked up the guitar 5 or 6 years ago—at age 53. I'd been writing songs with a friend of mine in L.A.—a fantastic guitarist. But he didn't have time to put a lot of effort into the project, so I decided to do it on my own. One of the few good decisions I've made in life. I love playing, I play and write all the time and now I've got over 100 songs written with about 30 of them worked up for playing out.
Nothing beats writing and playing your own music.
Anyway, I'd still advise getting better than a $75—$100 guitar. Find a used Taylor or something like it in the $200–$300 range. Best of luck finding the guitar—and in your writing and playing.

Picked this baby up at a pawn shop 3 weeks ago for 55 bones. Do a little shopping around and you never know what you can find. I have a buddy who's working on his 10,000 hrs for guitar and after 2 minutes with Jasmine, he was trying to buy her off me.

I'll second that Jasmine by Takamine.
My son just picked up one of these at a Yard Sale for cheap.
Nice starter acoustic. Nothing fancy at all, but very playable and sounds decent enough.
