I played 1 of these today. Even with a plastic nut and saddle, that guitar sounds fantastic. Better than much more expensive guitars and is very well put together and looks very good. The only problem, the neck is too narrow for me, so I didn't buy it. If you like a skinny neck though, you should check these guitars out. It's a great value.

Unfortunately, there is some misdirection going on with these guitars, they aren't made in The Czech Republic, like some sites claim, they are made in China too.

I have a mid 90's Peavey Black Widow bass combo that has been rained on, spilled on, dropped and left outside and that bitch still works perfect.

I recently ordered one, received it, MADE IN CHINA, and the website listed Czech Republic as the country of origin. I’m fairly aggravated by this, and will be more so if they don’t give me a full refund, including return shipping.

Sorry to hear about that. It's a crappy way to do business.
It's not Peavey making the Czech Republic claim though, it's the online dealers. The Peavey site doesn't say where they are made.

I bought a used Peavey 4x10 cab in 1996 for $200. Sold it in 2020 for $200.

What is the resistance people to have to ordering instruments made in China?

Is it more about supporting China as a country or what?

I get the resistance if you're just not supporting China as a country but there are some good quality instruments being produced over there currently, you just have to know what to look for.

Eastman specifically is one brand I can attest to as I personally own two acoustic guitars built by them.

They're right there, in terms of quality and sound, with Martin at half the price and are great instruments standing on their own.

Definitely not cheap knockoffs like China has been known for in the past.

That's exactly where I'm at on them. There is some good stuff being made there now, by a handful of companies, who are taking advantage of pretty much slave labor situations, instituted by a brutal government that shares the profits. Hand in hand with the devil.
I will buy a quality used guitar from there, if it's a race horse kind of deal, because at least I get to tell myself that the CCP won't be getting any of that money, since it's used and already here.
I suppose, if I was a man of true principles, I would refuse to even consider buying used Chinese stuff. Maybe if the used value was bad enough, it would discourage anyone from buying any new stuff from there, because they would be stuck with it.

Ok, some, maybe? I looked them up. Handcrafted in Beijing is a little different from normal mass produced MIC shite. I still wouldn’t trust them not to break.
