Houston Guitar Shops

I am looking for a shop around Houston that will replace my pickups in my Gibson Les Paul. Any recommendations?
I have narrowed it down to either Houston Guitar Tech or Rockin’ Robbin but also open for suggestions.
Sorry if this a repeated thread. I did a search and didn’t find much information.

Texas Music Emporium at 1960 and I45 North. Nedd Guitars in Conroe. Not sure if Fullers Vintage Guitars does it, but it's a great shop.

With all the recent YouTube videos questioning why people chase tone by changing pickups, I'd like to ask what you have, what you want, and what you expect to change.

I have a 2017 Tribute with standard stock pick ups.
Reason why I am wanting to change pick ups is cause my MIM Strat humbucker pick up sounds much more cleaner, brighter and gives me more of a crunch that I am looking for.
I bought a set of the Slash Alnico II pick ups.
Maybe a side note but I don’t watch or follow any of the YouTube guitar players either. When I first started playing I would watch the music is win guy but don’t really get on the social media anymore.

Rockin' Robin Guitars was great with my son's Telecaster. Lot of history. Not great parking but you can find a place.

Rocking Robin was able to repair it and despite a noticeable scratch on the back of the headstock and I still play it to this day. Plays so well I had to have it re-fretted last year.

Fullers has a million guitars in for service. And it’s the best shop to look around IMO
Rockin’ Robin is cool too.
Heights Guitar Tech? I saw you said Houston Guitar Tech. Not sure if that is the same place just renamed? I had an acoustic repaired for bridge lift. Good result. Good turnaround time.

Yes, it looks like they rebranded to Houston Guitar Tech after the owner passed away. I thought I remembered FretShack posting about this but I couldn’t find it. This is from their Facebook page…

According to Grok, the Gibson pickups are brighter than the Slash pickups.

What may have served you better would be an EQ pedal than changing pickups. Watch this video: EQ TONE
On the positive side, you could sell the Gibson pickups ($120-160). Those are nice pickups.

I definitely don’t hate them and they sound good. The slash pick ups I got for free so I figured I would throw them on there and see what happens.
