When sampling makes you innovative, you've lost the argument.

Sampling was innovative 40 years ago.

ng about Bad Bunny specifically this isn't true. The albums Un Verano Sin Ti and DtMF are very much innovative and different than standard reggaeton. DtMF specifically with the sampling of classic salsa and incorporation of other Puerto Rican genres is why it's so massively successful.

Before those albums he had some songs I liked, but yeah he was no different than some of the other trendy artists at the time (Anuel AA, Jhayco, Bryant Myers, J Balvin, etc).
I never mention lyrics, but the lyrics are appallingly mundane and profane.

Holy shite was that a clip of the show?

There is virtually 0 energy in that building. I wonder if the NFL piped in crowd noise to compensate.

I was at SB 56 - Dre/Eminem, etc. The crowd was into it. It was nothing like this.

Watched it...didn't care for it particularly...but if other people did...ok.

I guess this is the NFL's marketing scheme:

There are some people who will be watching the football game regardless of who is performing at halftime, and they will see commercials, which is what it is all about for them, anyway. If they get other eyes on the TVs that are only watching because of who is playing the halftime show...then they probably think that is extra eyes they can show as being exposed to the commercials by advertisers.

It was the most talentless shite I have ever scene on a grand stage. The crowd was not even into it. Even many Hispanics even said they could not understand him. The bunny is flat out stealing money to the idiots who like him.

It was largely unintelligible. The game was a defensive struggle between 2 teams that weren't very exciting at all, and it was still the 2nd most viewed Super Bowl ever. From that I will say that the NFL is more likely than not to repeat it with something similar next year in LA. These days the NFL is about selling advertising more than it is about anything to do with football.

The only thing I knew about Bad Bunny was from a recent Beato video where he breaks down the 2026 Grammy Best Song Nominees, and he plays clips of each one, in his usual fashion. Bad Bunny was one that he didn't completely shite on, so I thought it might actually be good because I tend to agree with Rick's takes. Then I saw the SB halftime show. I agree with OP. It's trash music for trash people, and I am not normally an arrogant person, musically. Hell, I like Taylor Swift and I'll admit it. But Bad Bunny is just trash.

She provides at least some depth, variation and melody. I think the hate on her is crazy.

Me not watching it had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with it being bad music.....Kid Rock is also bad music.....never saw the appeal aside from his exploitation of a dwarf
