Have we as a board ranked George Strait albums?

If not, I think we should. Here’s mine
Strait Country - The coming out party for a future superstar
Something Special - Doesn’t have the most epic hits, but does have The Chair and his most complete album front to back
Strait From the Heart - Solid country gold
Pure Country - Entire album full of heaters
Right or Wrong - Another consistent album with huge hits
Blue Clear Sky - The best of his “modern” records
I feel like all the others are interchangeable with some a little better than others. 2 or 3 hits with a bunch of mediocre filler songs

All I know is that if George Straight would somehow want my sister, my BIL would be single in a heartbeat.

Pay the proper respects;
It's King George.
It's King George.

Yep. I've always said that if I can look half as good at his age that he does now, I'll be happy. No homo, he's a good looking man, even a month away from turning 69.

My personal favorite.
It was released in 2003 which I guess would be considered later on in his career.

I am a HUGE King George fan but much prefer his pre-Pure Country albums.
Three of his best:
Livin' it up
Chill of an Early Fall
Strait from the Heart

I honestly have no idea which is best but The Road Less Travelled is the one I always go back to. That was Peak Melody on every cut, a brilliant album.

It's tough to rank them all.
I actually think Pure Country is the most listenable album front to back.
Blue Clear Sky may be my favorite, but it and Strait from the Heart (Fool Hearted Memory/Marina Del Rey/Heartbroke/Amarillo by Morning) are 1A and 1B and really interchangeable. Somewhere Down in Texas is a close second to those two.
Anyone want to blaspheme the king and call out his worst/least favorite album? I would have to say 2001's The Road Less Traveled. A couple of good songs (Run and Living and Living Well) but then the horrible choice to use autotune modulation on Rodney Crowell's Stars on the Water, a second song named She'll Leave You with a Smile (the first on 1997's Carrying Your Love with Me album), and just a whole lot of forgettable tracks.

Lol. Damn. So much shade. I will now challenge you to fisticuffs at the rural Sonic of your choice.

Always makes me tee-hee. Even when I use it myself. I chuckle at my own joke like I invented the word.

He should have retired after 2002ish. He gets flak for not writing songs, but at least he was country, stayed out of limelight, was a real rodeo guy.
Nobody in his right mind was his best song in my opinion. My opinion.

Let's not forget either, Strait has 60, yes 60 #1's. That is a fricking insane number and one that will never be broken.
All hail the King!

My favorite songs by him are usually the ones that were not released as singles.

I've always thought that Meanwhile was a grossly underrated song.

Gosh there are so many that weren't big singles:
Strait Country:
Blame it on Mexico, Friday Night Fever
Strait from the Heart:
Heartbroke - A great Ricky Skaggs release, but I like George's version a little better
Right or Wrong:
80 proof bottle of tear stopper,
Does Ft Worth....:
You're dancing this dance all wrong,
Something Special:
In too deep, Lefty's Gone
Livin it up:
We're supposed to do that now and then
Chill of an Early Fall
Is it already time? (Great great song)
I'll stop there as I don't like a whole lot of his stuff after 94.

Blue is not a Word
Haven’t You Heard
Rhythm of the Road
Every time it Rains
I Can’t See Texas from Here
Honky Tonk Crazy
Blame it on Mexico
Her Goodbye Hit Me in the Heart
Where the Sidewalk Ends
Overnight Male
I Ain’t Never Seen no one Like You
I’ve Seen That Look on Me
Haven’t You Heard
Rhythm of the Road
Every time it Rains
I Can’t See Texas from Here
Honky Tonk Crazy
Blame it on Mexico
Her Goodbye Hit Me in the Heart
Where the Sidewalk Ends
Overnight Male
I Ain’t Never Seen no one Like You
I’ve Seen That Look on Me
