Has a trashier sloot than Courtney Love ever made it that big?

She basically promoted herself as a junky whore.
Most believe that the majority of Hole's music was written by Cobain or Corgan.
I'm more than 50/50 that she was responsible for Cobain's death, and not in an emotional sense of pushing him toward suicide.
Y'all have any candidates to compete with her?

Yep. But Madonna can actually sing.
So the real question is whether anyone trashier than CL made it that big without talent.

Janis Joplin was pretty trashy albeit in a cool way.

Joplin was at least talented, and her self destructive ways were out of the public eye compared to today's celebrities. She was alleged to be gay or at least bi, and supposedly had threeways with Kris Kristofferson.

Let's not forget Miley Cyrus, either.
And since someone brought up Lady Gaga (and Madonna to a lesser extent), I think it became pretty obvious that Lady Gaga's early schtick was all an act. As we have already seen with her music, and soon will with her acting in A Star is Born, she is probably one of the most talented all around music artists around. She has no peer (in terms of talent) in the world of popular music (yes, I'm including Adele, Beyonce', and Bruno Mars).
If any of you saw her documentary on Netflix, you'd realize that she's far from trashy.

Lady Gaga is extremely talented - she can seriously sing, plays instruments and writes big hits. But Bruno Mars is right there too - dude has serious pipes, plays multiple instruments, writes and produces big hits for himself and others, and can really dance. Everybody seems to like him too. And the dude was an Elvis impersonator as a child.
