RIP Doc. Greatest picker ever.

Here's a shot of him and Merle at the Kingfish in BR back in the 70's.

Some folks might not know of him or his foot stomping songs but he "discovered" one of my favorite bands of late, Old Crow Medicine Show. He put them on the map and for that I thank him. They have taken bluegrass to a new level some (Sam Bush) call it "newgrass". Sad day but heaven just got a new picker to keep our angels foot stomping as they watch over us. RIP Doc.

Sooooooo glad I got to see him at Jazz Fest in 2009. I was right on the front, and was mesmerized!

Truly a legend! You'll be missed Doc
