...because they simply sound better on an acoustic!

"Mmmbop"! It is fun, and most people want to sing along!

"Freedom 90" by George Michael....lol...it just sounds funky on an acoustic!

"Take on Me" by Ah-ha...ok, it really isn't a stupid song, but the original has nothing to do with a guitar.. So it's fun to see people smile when they recognize what you are playing.

I will think of more...

I don't really play covers, but used to really enjoy playing "Drive" by incubus and pretty much everything from the first John Mayer album.

Now days the only cover I play much is "Feeling Alright" kinda in the Joe Cocker style.

Edit: I don't guess any of those would be considered "stupid"

Ah, remembered one. I used to goof off and play " I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston.

Seriously? That is awesome. Do you have a link to a lesson that you would recommend?

At the end of the year, our college had the student recognition/awards banquet. They had a guy with a guitar playing some background music as guest dined and drank. A buddy heavily intoxicated asked the guy if he could play a song. He chose that one. When it was over, everybody just sat there stunned as he just smiled, waved, and said, "Thank you. thank you very much. "

When he started most people were like, "oh is that Michael playing?" As they just chatted away. But by the time he got to the shampoo bottle, people were like WTF?

He never checked up on the song either. Plowed right through beginning to end.

Cool story I know.

Its just an A and D with a pinky hammer on the G# low E string. Any monkey could play it. And when you forget the words, just sing an old Elvis or Bachman Turner Overdrive lyric....takes the creativity of a milk jug.

I guess my stupid song may be "Night Moves" or Verve Pipes "The Freshman".
