tern was saying they were just like Zeppelin although I didn't really get the comparison based on that one song.

What?

That guy sounds so much like Robert Plant

They almost feel like they are trying too hard to BE Led Zeppelin. I mean, I get the influence, but if you played this music to someone that wasn't a super Zep fan and was familiar with them, they'd probably think it's Zeppelin.

Yeah he does. And it's fair to compare him to plant. But comparing them to Zeppelin is unfair to them.

I enjoyed that song, but if I'm that band I'm begging the comparisons to stop. I'd ask my publicist to kill them.

I enjoyed the song but I went in expecting to be blown away by a Zeppelin like band and what I got was a Plant like voice but the rest of the band isn't there. What I ended with was an opinion of "hey that song isn't bad, but they're no fricking Zeppelin". And that's not right. It's not fair to them.

They seem like a cool band and I'm excited to see where they go from here.

My biggest problem is the guitarist. He is a solid rhythm guitarist, but he struggled to lead those solos. He can't hold a candle in a lead discussion.

It's what I feel is missing from most modern rock music and that band is no different. Lead guitarists seem to have dissappeared and I keep waiting for one to re-emerge.

The last two I was really excited about were Stockdale and Knowles but for whatever reasons they couldn't keep their bands together and then fell off the map.

There's only one band in history in my opinion that was successful with a rhythm style guitarist only and no true lead and that's the Stones and its because Keith Richards is a fricking God.

Saw some interviews of them, seem like cool kids. Good charisma in videos of live performances. Let's hope they keep their heads together and avoid all the traps of that business (hard core drugs, etc).

I was thinking the same thing.Hopefully they want end up like every Behind The Music episode.

I hear what you're saying about the lead guitarist, good but not elite. Good news is that's he's still young and has some time to grow. Looking forward to seeing them develop.

They evidently don't like the comparisons to Led Zeppelin. I've read several interviews with them and they seem to get defensive when the interviewers ask about the obvious Zep influence. Maybe someone at their new record label is telling them to downplay these comparisons so they can be their own band.

I didn't really sense defensiveness from this interview. It sounded more like they embraced the comparison (Not bad company after all) but it's the only interview that I've ever heard with them. Either way, great sound and I'll definitely be checking out their Atlanta show in a couple of weeks.

Don't sound exactly like Robert Plant and they will go away.

For now. They plan on releasing 2 more 4 song EPs soon and then putting the 12 on a first album. They say they have enough stuff to fill 2-3 albums right now.

They impressed me enough that I bought 4 tickets on my company T&E card to take some clients to see them at The Earl Lounge in Atlanta on Aug 30..

Pretty solid band, will keep them on the radar for sure.

The songs posted aren't really my favorite, flower power as pretty good, but i'm sure that will continue to improve at that aspect. Singer clearly has a Robert Plant sounding voice but as someone else said, those comparisons aren't fair at all.

I liked that song much better than the rest of theirs i've heard so far.

To Sneaky_Sally:

The opening of Black Smoke Rising sounds eerily like a Rush tune, those vocals......wow.

GVF - Black Smoke Rising

EDIT - Sorry, saw I already posted that one.

If they want to stop comparisons to Led Zeppelin, they need to stop emulating the LZ sound.
