Go. I’ve gone to plenty of shows by myself. Sometimes it’s better than being restricted by friends and whatever they want to do. And it’s a lot easier to meet people when you fly solo. I’ve traveled solo from Columbus, OH to California on several occasions to see shows. Sometimes I had friends meeting me there for part of the trip. But sometimes it was just me. If you share an interest in a musical act, there’s not much of a better conversation starter than telling someone that you traveled thousands of miles by yourself to see a concert.

The only downside is losing your place at a general admission show when making a bar/restroom run
That’s a valid concern but you can get over that. Find a concert buddy. I’d have to check my stubs but I think it was at a Greyboy Allstars show at Great American Music Hall in late ‘98 or ‘99. I found some other dude who was there by himself and we held each other’s space on the floor while the other went to the bar or the restroom. That was a great show. I’m sure we must have introduced ourselves but I have no recollection of his name or even what he looked like.
Plus there’s also the fact that when you’re traveling solo it’s a lot easier to slip into spaces or seats than when you’re with a crowd. That’s even more true of reserved seating situations then general admission.

I went and saw Tool by myself a few years ago. Had a great time.
I do a lot of stuff solo.. go out to eat, concerts, etc. I think there’s a stigma around it but I’m not sure why.
Sometimes I have more fun alone. I legit just buy 1 ticket and go enjoy myself

Went by myself to catch TOOL on this last tour. It was like on a early weekday night and no one I know cares enough about TOOL to go......There was no way in hell I was going to miss it.
