It’s got a hint of the new flavor, but for the most part this is imo one of the best country songs in this decade. The lyrics are phenomenal and Shelton is generally always pretty damn good.

I’ve found someone-BS
One of my favorite songs by Blake and wasn’t released as a single I don’t recall.

Not everyone can “get” Red Dirt, but I strongly advise you to get with the program. Country is back.

See Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, & Lil Nas X.

Easily the best country singer post George Strait era. Most of these other guys are all singing some version of the same song that’s more pop than country

Old school country will never be back because the culture that spawned it is dead and buried. Same for old school classic rock. Those are eras we will never witness again.

Ehhh he's put out some definite shite. However, can't hate against stuff like Austin and Ol Red. I like God's Country pretty good but another of his recent releases, I Lived It is one of my favorite songs of all time I think, just makes me remember how it was to be a kid and kinda wish those days didnt go so fast.

I can see that about half the posts in this thread are clear trolls/shitposts (including much of the OP), but if the above was an actual honest opinion, can you explain why they are phenomenal? I just browsed them and it is absolutely nothing different than the predictable, formulaic, check-list type lyrics that all garbage country is.

God/religion- check
dirt road- check
alcohol- check
dogs- check
simple lifestyle- check
reference to other country song/artist- bonus point
mentioning Dixie- 2 bonus points

I mean really, how much effort could this have actually taken?

Here is a song Dale Watson wrote about Blake Shelton that sums him up fairly well:

A Song for Blake Shelton (alt version)

Here is an article from Saving Country Music about the song Link

If I am “Male Vocalist of the Year” that must mean that I’m one of those people now that gets to decide if it moves forward and if it moves on. Country music has to evolve in order to survive. Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa’s music. And I don’t care how many of these old farts around Nashville going, “My God, that ain’t country!” Well that’s because you don’t buy records anymore, jackass. The kids do, and they don’t want to buy the music you were buying.

Oh idk Blake, perhaps make music without focus groups and chart expectations in mind you corporate piece of shite
