I grew up a Waters guy but as time goes by I'm leaning Gilmour. What does everyone else think?

Waters in terms of concept and writing, Gilmour in terms of skill and fact he's the "voice" of Pink Floyd.

Obviously I'm a Gilmour guy, he had more musical talent in one finger than Waters did in his whole body. Roger was the novelist of the band which provided substance and kept proclaiming himself the "leader" of the band after Syd fizzled out, but Gilmour and Richard Wright stood head and shoulders above the rest musically. They were the soul of the band and Gilmour the heart.

Gilmour.

But Richard Wright was the heart of the band. Pink Floyd would never have been "Pink Floyd" without him.

I heavily lean Gilmour, overall, but I appreciate Waters' drive, lyrics and vision for the band - particularly from DSOTM on.

I invite anyone skeptical about this to listen to Great Gig in the Sky and then Us and Them, back-to-back. Then remember that Waters fired Rick for being "not that good."

I would like Roger better if he wasn't completely full of shite.

Roger Waters is one of the most gifted lyricists of all time.

He is also one of the absolute biggest pieces of shite in human history.

Wright and Gilmour are just perfect musicians. Absolutely perfect. And my all time favorite keyboardist and guitarist respectively

Waters. He's the superior artist.

Gilmour plays his solos exactly the same way every time. He's easily replaced in concert. If Waters and Pink Floyd are playing across the street from one another, go to Waters if you want to see the better concert. Go to Pink Floyd if you want to see the better show.

Waters is too much of a whiny pussy and let's his fricked up worldview bleed too much into his musical life. I prefer Gilmour.

Gilmour because I love his guitar work and singing style, especially on Division Bell.

With some of the best phrasing and one of the most iconic guitar tones of all time? Fine by me.

I know that is the popular belief by many but I'm not one of them. David Gilmour did more the Syd did. Syd was the originator but he would have never taken them where David did.

And David > Roger. Not legit

Gilmour is the Keith Richards to waters' mick Jagger only I prefer Gilmour to waters in that waters didn't act like an a-hole in those later years and fully disassociate himself from the rest of the group.
