Saw him last night at a tiny venue in Nashville.

He is the best guitarist I have ever seen in person and I have seen some damn good ones. Unbelievable. He has so much of that Jimi Hendrix blues/soul and the skill to match.(epiphone as well BTW)

Unreal.

I was literally left speechless. So were the other people there.

I have goosebumps typing about it right now. Every song was better than the last and he is as cool as they come.

I've been jamming everything I can possibly find by him and it is all awesome.

Funny thing though, a friend of mine in the industry who is currently living in Nashville was in town last weekend and I brought him up.. He was like mehh when I was in Austin he was just some kid playing wherever he could around town. He said he had seen him over 15 times. I'm jelly.

Yeah I know some peeps in Austin that said the same thing.

This guy will be a huge ticket soon. My buddy said at Bonnaroo all the other bands and artists stuck around just to see him. He has incredible respect from his peers.

He played yesterday afternoon at the Roo and drove to Nashville last night to play again at this small venue.

Truly, undoubtedly, the best guitarist I have ever seen. And like I said, I have been privileged to see a lot of incredible ones.

His recordings don't do him justice. He oozes cool and skill off the stage. Absolutely mesmorizing. His hands moved so fast you couldn't follow them with your eyes and it came off his guitar like butter. So fricking smooth.

I was about to say just that. When I first moved to Austin (2006), my boyfriend and I would go see him every Wednesday night at the Continental Club. Said boyfriend was friends with Gary's then-girlfriend so we got to hang out a few times. Super nice and ridiculously talented. I'm glad I've already gotten to see him play because I may not be able to get tickets pretty soon.

Although I haven't seen him outside at a festival, I would assume the acoustics are much better in a small venue.

So if anyone has that opportunity, I would suggest moving mountains to get that ticket.

I find that great musicians are often drowned out by background noise and open air in festivals.

Outstanding talent. I made sure to tell everyone in Lafayette to go watch him at festival Internationale; everyone was blown away. I remember watching the Crossroads 2010 Dvd over a year ago and thinking "this fricker will be huge." It has taken longer than I expected, but he is finally getting the respect he deserves. Oh, and Jimi would be proud of his cover of Catfish Blues.

His first full album doesn't drop until October.

Pretty much exactly how i felt leaving international fest a few months ago. And that was outside in a festival setting, i can only imagine his power inside.
