Bump.
First day was cool, but the staff was so unprepared for the amount of people coming in. Waited 2 hours in line to get on and had per purchased my ticket.
Snoop was fricking awesome.
Two door cinema club was good.
Flaming lips were, as usual, great.
Will report back after today for final results. Today's lineup is much better.

Missed starfricker yesterday cause the line to get in was so backed up. Saw half of major lazer yesterday. He was rocking. Fitz and the tantrums, and Portugal the man are first on my list today.

last update.
i was able to catch the Wild Moccasins, who are a local Houston band. they were pretty cool.
following that was fitz and the tantrums, who i was looking forward to seeing live. they were great, except black chick singer said she was in boston, followed by a moment of awkward silence among everyone in the crowd.
Portugal. The Man was great. Had some awesome new songs, i was kind of disappointed that they didn't really engage the crowd. just played music and said it was hot.
Young the giant was awesome.
Ole willie was, well, ole willie.
I couldn't stay for the avett brothers, primus, or pretty lights unfortunately.
overall a great weekend, and i will return if they keep producing solid lineups.

Day one: Z-Ro was awesome. He played some old stuff and there was hardly anyone there. Looks like King of the Ghetto has gained a bit of weight. I enjoyed Two Door Cinema Club as well. There were more people there than at Snoop Dogg. Loved seeing Jeff the Brotherhood. Saw Sundress again and they are develping into a really good band. Snoop was the man. He had the audience in the palm of his hand. Flaming Lips were great of course. It was frustrating standing there for 20min while they were messing with the sound trying to get things just right. But once they started, there weren’t any problems.
Day two: was able to catch Wild Moccasins who I thought were just alright. Our group ended up leaving and catching the last of Papermoons from Austin who really impressed me. Next was Fitz and the Tantrums who were just alright. Young the Giant was really awesome and it was tough to leave but we had to in order to get a good spot for Portugal. The Man. Man, they were a really good live band. I love their studio albums and was really pleased to see how good they were live as well. Willie Nelson was awesome. This was my first time to see him live and he did not disappoint. It was by far the most crowded event of Free Press, but that was understood. I really enjoyed, “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.” Last, we got really close to see Primus. They came on and rocked the place. It was great being able to see Les Claypool live. Ler’s father was in the audience, so Les let him do a fun 2-3 minute solo which was pretty amazing and had the crowd in awe.
Overall, it was a great event. I think they were a bit overwhelmed with all of the people that showed up this year, but they did a better job of moving people around on Sunday. I was very surprised to meet so many people from out of town that drove or flew in to come see some of the acts. It’s really impressive how big this festival has become in only four years, and I think it will only continue to grow.
