re: Favorite under rated acts of the 70s

just getting in on this, ones mentioned that stuck out to me...

Paul Pena, wowed that anybody knows him. check the movie Ghengis Blues with him. Goes to Tuva and competes in a music challenge

Strawbs- that one Hero & Heroine disc is a prog rock classic

Wishbone Ash kicked some arse with double leads

Humble Pie- makes me sad missing the great rock voice of Steve Marriott

love some Savoy Brown & Ten Years After but don't think they get under rated status

Dixie Dregs I'd call way less popular than their musical prowness. Anybody that does know them usually rates them high.

Mountain definitely had a place, dunno about under rated tho

James Gang with Joe Walsh definitely could be a big discovery if you didn't know them

Always thought Traffic would be a fantastic jam band for today

Faces had some solid stuff, another with questionable under rated status tho

good point, no matter how big my gauge is the ratio of public acclaim to the quality of music produced. From the ones I noted above I'd prolly go Traffic as the highest. They were pretty big but I doubt few people today have a clue about them.
