All you 80s/90s buffs have to have a few in their pocket.

Mine:

"Mainstream": Peter Schilling - Different Story Accentuated and extended all that was good without distorting the original song's greatness

"Less Mainstream": Ofra Haza - Im Nin'Alu & Galbi (Razormaid Mix) Loved her as a vocalist. Her life was cut short way too soon.

Another Ofra Haza "tribute" just because... Ofra Haza - The Box Camera Atlantis Mix by Paul de Boer 2007

Omg

I bet we knew each other.

I really liked OK ashtray and Sandra's Hiroshima/whole lotta love remix. I'll look it up later.

Then there's airplane crashers white rabbit.

And there's an amazing remix of pump up the volume that takes that awesome song and makes it 1000x better.

I haven't found it again.. But I remember there was a line "the surgeon general of home town new York has determined the following sounds still be hazardous to your hearing"... Followed by " come on come on ome on come on love it... Yeah"

HERE: Sandra - Hiroshima with Whole Lotta Love riffs

It's altogether possible.

May has well include the most popular one to my knowledge: REAL LIFE - Send Me An Angel (Razormaid mix)

Woulda been great had they done God Tonight

Also - Cause & Effect - It's Over Now sounds like one that was unclaimed.

ETA:

Props on some of these deep cuts, guys.

A couple I haven't heard and that's hard to do.

Whoah, what a topic for this board.

Takes me back to Record Rack in Houston where you'd spend a day browsing though all those 12".

If you spent any time in a club in Houston in the late 80's, THIS is the tune ni my mind that represents Lizard Lounge, Club 6400, Club Excess, etc.

Depeche Mode's - World in my Eyes remix is pretty awesome.

Tribantura - Lack of Sense (RZMD) <----- This is tops though. I havw the Welcome to the Technodrome disk. There was a few follow up volumes to that one. But none of them are better than that one IMO. Houston clubs would play every one of those tracks off that one.

Pluuto-Isn't it Crazy
Cetu Javu-Situations

Technopolis is another compilation which is just as awesome.

When I think of razormaid this one pops up first. IT was the first time I remember seeing a label saying Razormaid.
Nitzer Ebb - Control I'm Here RZMD

A few others:
Clan of Xymox - Strangers rzmd

Cetu Javu - Situations rzmd

Red Flag - Russian Radio rzmd

Cheers! Tis a great thread indeed. Nice to see an old school thread on here.

I'm also a huge fan of their Gridlock series:

I own 3 or 4 of these issues. Mainly early 90s stuff.

happy to provide you with where i spent my early 20s.

Great clubs back in the day..Red Square, N#mbers (where was the hashy located in that word?), Power Tools, Lola's, Emo's, Tower Theater Trash Disco...then you had Yucatan Liquor Stand and Bayou Mamas if you wanted to take a break from the X crowd.

My buddy DJ'd at Power Tools for a bit. I saw American Soviets at Tower Theater. Of course Numbers. I think I remember going to Red Square once. But to be honest, that was a hazy night.

Morriseey at Record Rack

Down from Record Rack or near there was an old run down looking strip mall along Westheimer. Sound Exchange. That was a seedy area back in the 80's and now it's prime real estate.

Meat Beat Manifesto was popular but I think they're English.

Speaking of Ofra Haza, does anybody remember Sire/Warner sampler CD's Just say yes series? That's how I know of Ofra Haza and Danielle Dax. Those samplers were awesome.

Just say Yes
Just say Yo
Just say Mao
Just say Da
Just say Anything
Just say Yesterday
Just say Roe

I'll have to check that out.

The coolest thing about all the remixes was just hearing the different versions about every time you went clubbing. Depeche Mode would have about 5-7 remixes of each single release.
