Do you think canceling an event that was scheduled now for October isn’t much of an overreaction?

One word: Lawsuits. On top of that, any hint of the virus still being around will torpedo attendance and the festival would tank financially. One year of being in the red and it will go the way of Bayou Country Superfest.

Considering it's the same administration that let Mardi Gras go on which resulted in who knows how many people getting infected would you have expected anything other than this being cancelled?

You will not see any large groups ( concerts, sporting events ) until next year. Already predicting another run of Covid later in fall.

Come on, you can't be serious with this. Nobody had a clue that early on that this could become so bad.

I'm not blaming her. I would have done the same thing. What I'm saying is that there is no way she is going to do it again and risk having two decisions that her opponent will be able to use against her the next time she is up for election. She didn't know exactly what the results of her action were then when she made her decision. She does now.
