It's not a bad song.... Actually, for Aerosmith, it's really damn good, but that's not sayin' much. Their music is mostly garbage.
I've seen specials/read shite hyping "Walk This Way" as some super revolutionary piece that changed the landscape of music forever.
It's an insanely overrated song.

i've been burnt out on the studio version for years, but the 'live bootleg' version is still sleazy-sounding enough to enjoy.
saw them in 1984, and it was a great show, albeit a near-trainwreck at times. i still enjoy everything up to & including 'done with mirrors' (even 'rock in a hard place'), but by '87 i pretty much turned in my fan card...

Not to mention run dmc is one of the lamest rap groups of all time.

Yeah, all they did was pretty much invent rap as we know it by being the first group to stress the importance of the MC over the DJ, and having the ability to actually make reproducable singles. Without Run-DMC's paradigm changing act, hip hop maybe stays a DJ-oriented art form, primarily for live parties (much like techno and DJ's of today). the move to the MC might have happened anyway, but it would have been much much slower.
Run DMC is owed a royalty check by every rapper alive.

Doesn't change the fact they were terrible, and i'm pretty sure they weren't the first people rapping over dj mixes
I'm just thankful the gangster rap scene came into play or rap may have continued down that path and never developed into the art form and cultural voice for a generation that was 90's rap. picture me rollin in my 500 benz, got no love the ninja's theres no need to pretend

Aside from some notable exceptions, gangsta rap is a pretty awful genre that pretty much ruined hip hop. No one has any flow for shite anymore.
Even NWA, the template for gangsta rap, had tons of diversity of songs. Straight Outta Compton had party rap and goofy songs as well. That would never happen now.

well i'm not gonna argue that, rap these days is really really bad, but 90's gangsta rap defined the genre. if you don't think biggie and pac had flow then i don't know what to tell ya. all i want is fancy thing, five double o and flashy rangs

80's rap had that "voice" also. Geto Boys, Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions. That Gansta rap wasn't the only form of the 90's either b/c I'm down with OPP. Actually thinking about it, a lot of 90's gangsta rap is pure garbage.
